Answer

Hey Lori, I've missed you!

(Lori asked about our chore list and schedules and I started to answer it in the comments but it just got too long.)

My girls both have birthdays in August and will be 10 and 13 when school starts back (or within a week of it). Jillian (who will be 10) is going into 6th grade (she's ahead). And Julia (who will be 13) will be going into 8th grade.

Most of their studies are at an honors co-op this year. It's almost like a private, Christian school, but it doesn't meet every day of the week.

The reason I was talking about a chore schedule is because it has to work around our "out of the house" days. Which will be 3 each week this year.

On Tuesday Julia goes one place and Jillian goes another. I'll spend the day running back and forth. On Wednesday, they both go to the same place and will be there for several hours. And on Thursday, Julia alone has a couple of classes.

Their challenge is to schedule their time to get the assignments done so they're not rushing at the last minute. While it wasn't the same last year, they both did great. But Jillian is starting middle school this year and it's a whole new ballgame. So I'm sure it will take some getting used to on all of our parts.

I'll see if I can figure out how to post the chore charts.

I forgot I wanted to ask you how you set your comments to post after blog owner approval? I think this would help me not to miss any older post comments. Is that why you have it like that? or have you had issues in the past? Thanks!
Blessings Lori

Hey Michelle!
Thank You for the comment and the welcome. Someone told me they might have some extra komucha in about a month! Do you make it? Is it hard, and do you like the taste? Also, have you noticed any health benefits? I know there is alot written about it but I have never personally known anyone who uses it. Again, THANK YOU!!

Lori, well obviously posting the chore charts didn't work. ;P I just tried copy and paste, but ran out of time. I work something out in the next day or so. I appreciate your asking and have to say that I *love* the chore charts so far.

As far as commenting goes, I moderated because I had a few comments that sounded like real comments but ended up being spam? And I didn't want anyone reading through my blog and clicking through that if I could help it.

To change your setting is simple:

Customize (top R of page after you sign in)

Settings Tab

Andrea, I made it for several months. We all drank it. The taste wasn't bad at all. Pretty good actually, but may take a bit of getting used to. I found that I liked it much better with the mushroom OUT of the jar and chilled. I don't know why I had such a hard time drinking the tea off that mushroom. I'm not normally squeamish at all. But I was about that for some reason.

It's very easy to make. Just follow the simple directions. I'm certainly no expert. But I do tend to follow directions on things like that as if I'm mixing medication. Meaning I follow them *exactly*.

As far as the health benefits, I really couldn't say. We are, thank God, a pretty healthy lot for the most part.

The reason I'm not making it now is that I'm making a female herbal tea, and really wanted to see the benefits of it alone.

:)

Good Morning Michelle!
A very late morning for me, the 2 year old didn't sleep well last night. I think he's going thru a growth spurt. He doesn't seem to be sick. Just crabby and clingy which is unlike him. Anyway, thanks for the info. on the kombucha. I am hoping it might help some stomache problems the hubby has and was curiuos if it might be a good diet aid for my son's autism. I having been looking into the diet aspect because of a book by a woman who's son has autism. Her name is Karen Seroussi (I hope I spelled that right). I haven't read the book yet, but have been looking into it. I really loved the bread machine you have on your link. I liked that horizontal pan. Mine has the upright pan and is not quite as big I think. I know what you mean about Ebay being expensive! I may have to replace the pan on mine because appparently someone used something sharp to pry the bread out and scatched it up which makes the bread stick a bit. I can do that for about $21.00 which still makes the machine a good buy! Well, this has been long! Got to go make bread! Hope to hear from you again!!
