How Our Prices Vary

Beth's Post got me thinking about how our prices vary around the country.

So I thought I'd do a little survey. I'd love to hear what the rest of you pay for the following:

In Southeast TN (and these are approximations based on my best recollection)

Gas - 2.76/gallon

Milk - 5.19/gallon

Bread - 2.50/loaf (just the normal kind, nothing fancy)

Ground Chuck - 3.89/lb.

Apples - 1.59/lb.

Bananas - .49/lb.

Cable Internet - 45.00/month

Power (electric and gas) - 350.00/month average (just increased to this a few months ago)

Water bill - 25.00/month

Grass cut (1/4 acre) - 75.00/each time

If you can think of anything else that you'd like to see compared, leave it in the comments!

Hello Michelle!
I am soo sorry that my name is on twice. I messed up on the first one entering my blog address and I have no idea how to remove it.
Now, did you want us to post our comparison on our blog or in the comments? Let me know and I will do mine. :)

My name is Michelle. said...

Andrea, not a problem! I can't tell you how many of these I've had to do twice because I messed the first one up.

The way this works is that you're supposed to put it on your own blog and then link to that post here.

Thank you for doing it! I'm excited!

Hey Michelle!
I don't know if you do this sort of thing but since your one of my favorite people I am going to tag you. I have been tagged for a meme on posting a list if your five favorite links (they can be anything). So, if you want to join come on over and see my post for the rules. I will get the post up for the comparison too. :)

I live in a generally cheaper area... but so are the salaries here.

Michelle!
No kidding about the yard work. It is all our neighbor does in the summer- he gets on the minimum $125 an hour! And he says he gets more work than he can keep up with. I seriously envy your water bill. :P The price on the internet is for the internet cost alone. We don't have cable TV. I have tried to find cheaper but can't unless we go dial up. For my hubby's Ebay business that's not an option. Salaries here are not that good, nor is the job market from what I understand. My hubby has topped $13.65 an hr for journeyman checker and he's been there 9 years. Down in CA where we came from journeyman top pay was $17 an hr. Thanks for holding this!
